Apapa-Tin Can road shut by FG

The Director, Federal Highways, Southwest. Federal Ministry of Works, Mr Funsho Adebiyi has disclosed during a tour of the Apapa/Oshodi road project that the Federal Government will on Saturday December 7 from 12am, shut sections of the Apapa-Tin Can road for maintenance.

He said sections from Mile 2 to Tin Can would be closed to traffic.

The Vice Chairman, Presidential Task Team on Apapa Restoration of Law and Order, Mr Kayode Opeifa, said movement would be restricted for about 72 hours and truck drivers have been asked to leave the restricted portions for ease of movement during the repairs. However emergency and construction vehicles will be given unrestricted movement to ensure they carry the required materials for the construction.

He said, concrete cement will be used for the palliative work that will ease movement during construction. All the stakeholders have agreed to put heads together to deliver this project.

He assured the public that the discomfort would be temporary, adding that the project would be completed on schedule by December 2020.
