German football giants, Bayern Munich has slammed a huge fine on Sadio Mane after he punched Leroy Sane, a team mate following a Champions League match last week in the city of Manchester, according to multiple reports.

Mane, a former Liverpool forward hit out at Sane in the dressing room after the German team’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester City on Tuesday, forcing other members of the squad to step in. Sane was left with a bruised lip following the incident.

The former Liverpool forward was also dropped from Bayern’s match day squad for the Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim on Saturday and fined some of his £17m-a-year wages.

Florian Plettenberg, a Bayern expert, has now revealed the amount Mane was fined by Bayern, while speaking with Sky Germany.

“According to our information, it is an amount that goes far beyond €300,000 (£260,000), so it’s a very, very sensitive fine for Mane,’ he said.

This is Bayern’s highest fine in their history.

The expert also claimed the German giants are interested in selling him in the summer, just a year after he joined the club from Liverpool.

“From what I’m hearing, Bayern will try everything to offload Sadio Mane in the summer,’ he said.

“From a sporting point of view, Thomas Tuchel has no plans with Mane as he doesn’t fit his system. This is my information. The player is seen very critically internally.”

Thomas Tuchel, the coach of Bayern, has confirmed Mane will be back in contention for a place in the squad in the return match with Manchester City on Wednesday as they attempt a miraculous comeback to qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League.
