The list of the highest paid footballers globally, has Messi, a six-time Ballon d’Or winner who recently joined French club, PSG as a free agent, on number one as he will be earning a whopping €35m annually.
On the second position is Neymar Junior of PSG with a gross earning of €30m while Barcelona legend, Andres Iniesta who now plays in the J-League with Vissel Kobe comes in third with a yearly income of €25m.
Former Chelsea football club of England midfielder, Oscar who now plays for Shanghai Port in the Chinese Super League and earns a salary of €24m annually, is fourth.
Following his return to Manchester United, Cristiano Ronaldo is now the fifth highest paid footballer.
Manchester United have offered Juventus 28 million euros ($33 million), agreeing a two-year deal with Ronaldo worth 25 million euros per season, according to a Sky Sport Italia report.
Ronaldo had spent six years at United between 2003 and 2009, where he won the first of his five Champions League titles and was first crowned the world’s best player.
At United, he scored a total 118 goals in 292 games, also winning three Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cups.
